Genetically Modified Plants Grow Plastic.
Biotechnologists have created genetically modified (GM) plants that can grow plastic. They managed this by inserting 4 genes from a plastic-producing bacteria into varieties of oilseed rape (Eurasian plant) and cress. Conventional plastics are made from oil and do not degrade easily, but the plant plastic is biodegradable. But it is expensive, at this costing five times more than petroleum-derived plastic. BTW, the word plastic comes from the Greek plastikos, meaning “to form” or “to shape.”
Money doesn’t grow on trees but one day, perhaps, credit cards will!
Genetic engineering
Actually, man has been “genetically modifying” everything from food to dogs for many centuries, but in the past the only tool has been selective breeding. There are a variety of ways that scientists now modify plants and animals with genetic engineering techniques (see How Stuff Works ).
Take good care of your plants
In the meantime, before you grow your own plastic plants, take good care of your real plants. Clean them often, speak to them, and play them some nice music – there is a lot of research that shows that playing melodic or classical music to plants make them grow healthier.

Why is Blue for Boyz and Pink for Girlz?
In ancient times, it was believed that certain colors could combat the evil spirits that lingered over nurseries. Because blue was associated with the heavenly spirits, boys were clothed in that color, boys then being considered the most valuable resource to parents. Although baby girls did not have a color associated with them, they were mostly clothed in black. It was only in the Middle Ages when pink became associated with baby girls.
Feathers Per Square Inch

A hummingbird beats its wings up to 80 times per second, flying at speeds up to 35 mph (56km/h). Its heart beats more than 1200 times per minute. Which means it needs a lot of food and liquid for energy. It eats up to half its own weight and drinks 8 times its weight in water each day. Its long tubular tongue licks nectar at 13 times a second.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me???
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name and
Took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready in Heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind, all those
Things I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I’d always thought, I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you, and maybe
See you smile.
But then I fully realized, that could never be,
For emptiness and memories, would take
The place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things, I might
Miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was
Filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven’s gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From his great golden throne.
He said, “This is eternity, and all I’ve
Promised you.
Today your life on Earth is past, and
Here it starts anew”.
“I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last,
And since each day’s the same day, there’s
No longing for the past”.
“But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true,
Though there were times you did some things,
You know you shouldn’t do”.
“But you have been forgiven, and now at
Last you’re free,
So won’t you take my hand now and share
My life with Me”.
So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t
Think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me, I’m right here
In your heart.

Right Beared Shape for Your Face
Properly trimmed and shaped facial hair can go a long way to enhance desirable facial features or take emphasis off weaknesses. While each face will have its own special considerations such as size of mouth, nose, and jawline, there are some general rules for choosing the right facial hair for your face type. Let's look at each.

When shaping the beard for a round face, go a bit longer at the chin to add length and make the face appear less round. Avoid bushy sideburns and keep the sides of the beard short. In lieu of a full beard, a goatee is often a good option for a round face.
Exactly opposite of the round face, the long face requires a beard which is fuller at the sides and shorter at the chin. The goal here is to add width to the sides and make the face appear less long. Make sure to avoid abrupt changes in length so the shaping is not obvious.

Similar to shaping a beard for a long face, the beard for a square face should be shorter at the sides and longer at the chin to add length to the face. Once again, a goatee is also a good option for men with square faces.
Since the face is large, any small facial hair or beard will appear out of proportion and make the face appear bigger. Keep the beard fuller and the mustache larger. Also follow the rules above for the appropriate face shape.
Small faces require small facial hair. Larger, fuller styles will make the face get lost and appear out of proportion. Also follow the rules above for the appropriate face shape.
You lucky man! The oval face shape is considered the ideal shape and requires no special shaping to balance facial features. Do whatever you like and you'll look great.

Uses and Benefits of Barley
Properties:
Barley is bitter, sweet, cool, breaks up stool, increases intelligence and appetite, good for the voice, gives strength, causes the formation of wind, destroys the humor of phlegm and bile, clears the blood impurities, cures coryza and satisfies the thirst.
Uses:
1. Barley is commonly used just like the wheat. It is considered as the best cereal for a diabetic patient. If it is taken along with "Methi" or "Chauli" shak then it reduces the excessive fat from the body. It is also good for the milk-giving animals.
2. After crushing barley and then boiling it in the water till 1/4th of the total quantity of water remains and then putting it down from the fire and crushing it further for one hour and if this is given to a person having kidney pains, problems in urination, inflammation while urinating or diarrhea it gives great relief to him.
3. If the water in which barley and kidney beans are boiled, is given to a person suffering from diarrhea it gives him instant relief.
4. If plethora, inflammation and thirst the barley's "sattu" (grinded after roasting) dissolved in the water gives permanent relief.
5. The flour of Barley mixed in same quantity of sugar if drunk helps in preventing abortion. It also pacifies the excessive humor of bile.
6. Women who usually are prone to abortion get benefited if powdered barley mixed with powdered sesame, sugar and honey is given to her.
7. "Sattu" of barley drives away tiredness.
Note:
Barley should not be used by people having gastric trouble.

Wrinkly Skin in water...

Even though you can't see it, your skin is covered with its own special oil called sebum (say: see-bum). Sebum is found on the outermost layer of skin. Sebum moistens, or lubricates (say: loo-bruh-kaytes), and protects your skin. It also makes your skin a bit waterproof. That's why water runs off your skin when you wash your hands, instead of soaking it in like a sponge would.
But staying in water for a long time washes away the sebum. Then, the water can penetrate the outer layer of your skin. This causes your skin to become waterlogged. So how does this lead to wrinkles? No one is really sure.
Some people think it's because the skin expands to allow extra water inside. The expanded skin ends up looking really wrinkly. Other people think that it's because the skin is tied down to the tissue underneath in certain places. So when the skin is full of water, it swells up (gets puffy), but only in places where it is not tied down, which makes it look wrinkly.
What should you do if this happens to you?
Nothing. It goes away quickly on its own. You'll have more sebum on your skin in no time.
Water For Skin...
Another benefit of drinking water is to carry nutrients into the cells of the body. In addition to helping nutrients get into the cells where they are needed, the benefit of drinking water in adequate amounts also helps to keep the cells well hydrated so they can function properly and efficiently.
Drinking water is also beneficial for muscles. It helps maintain proper muscle tone and prevents painful muscle cramping.
The prevention of kidney stones or at least the reduction of risk of developing kidney stones is another benefit of drinking water in the right quantities.
Drinking water helps to increase the energy level in people and helps to lubricate the joints in the body.
There is a belief that one benefit of drinking water in large amounts is that it curbs the appetite and therefore can be an effective tool for weight loss. Unfortunately, there is no solid evidence that water plays this role. Certainly, drinking water in large amounts will fill the stomach, but this is only temporary. Once the water exists the stomach, the hunger sensation returns, perhaps with even more strength.
Google to hold Android event in early January

Google's free Android software is currently used as the operating system on more than a dozen smartphones from vendors including Motorola Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.
Android phones, which can browse the Internet and play video games, compete with Apple Inc's iPhone and other smartphones.
Earlier this month, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters that Google would begin selling its own phone on January 5. The source said the phone would be available for purchase from Google with a contract from Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA, or in unlocked mode, in which consumers could use the device with a carrier of their choice.
The Android event will take place the same week as the high-profile Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where tech companies from Microsoft Corp to Sony Corp will be unveiling their latest products for 2010. Press conferences start on January 6 and the show begins on January 7.
According to the Google invitation, the company will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. in California on January 5, with "demonstrations" scheduled between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

A Facial Expression is Worth 1000 Words...

Communication is a central aspect of everyday life, a fact that is reflected in the wide variety of ways that people exchange information, not only with words, but also using their face and body. Scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany, found out that we are able to recognize facial expressions in motion -- for example, in a movie -- far better than in a static photograph. The video sequence needs to be at least as long as one tenth of a second to gain this dynamic advantage.
In further experiments, the video sequences were converted to a series of photographs that was shown to the participants. Nevertheless, the expressions were still recognized more accurately in the video sequence. This showed that the dynamic advantage is not due to the presence of multiple images, but that some form of dynamic information is being used. In order to figure the degree to which facial expression recognition relies on natural movement, the frames were presented as a movie, but in a random order. Comparisons of the performance in this scrambled condition to the original video sequence shows that the recognition rates were still higher in the original than in the scrambled version.
The chronological direction is of importance as well. If the video sequences are temporally reversed, they are again identified less accurately. Finally, the more temporal information we receive, the better we are able to recognize expressions -- at least up to 100 milliseconds. The results show that neither pictures, nor motion alone are of importance, but that we need a combination of the correct temporal sequence and the correct facial motion to reliably interpret facial expressions.
"Facial expressions, like gestures and body motion, are a dynamic phenomenon and need to be investigated with the help of video sequences in order to get a better understanding of the dynamic information that is being processed," says Dr. Christian Wallraven, co-author of the study. "Our results also have implications for the area of computer animation, since its goal is to create artificial avatars and facial animations that are able to communicate realistically and believably," says the physicist and perception scientist.
